Areas of Practice
Elder Law
Elder Law includes a wide range of legal matters that may affect elderly or disabled individuals. This includes issues related to health care and long term care planning, guardianship, retirement, and other important matters such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Veterans Benefits. Our law firm advocates for the elderly and their loved ones.
Estate Planning
Our attorneys provide an array of estate planning services. Beginning with powers of attorney and advance directives through Wills, Trusts, and Asset Protection planning, we offer guidance, counseling and support to complete a comprehensive plan that meets your needs, goals and asset composition.
Our team approach to estate planning includes you, any trusted advisor you select, along with the experienced attorneys at Khairy and Associates, LLC, to design and implement your estate plan.
Trust & Probate Administration
The process of closing an estate is overseen by the state’s probate court system. A probate lawyer focuses on what happens after someone passes away, as opposed to an estate planning attorney, who tries to put a plan in place before death. Both fields are interrelated, however. Oftentimes, people harbor mixed feelings about the probate process. Yet, the process exists to ensure a proper distribution of someone’s wealth in accordance with the grantor’s or testator’s/testatrix’ intent.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a federally mandated and state-run program that helps with healthcare costs for people with limited or low income and resources. Medicaid subsidizes the costs of a Medicaid recipient’s medical bills, including but not limited to bills associated with nursing home care and in-home care. Our law firm assists clients in helping them become eligible for Medicaid through pre-planning strategies or crisis planning techniques. Depending on the individual’s specific needs, our staff will counsel clients and assist them with navigating the complex laws and rules of Indiana Medicaid.
Business & Contract Law
Our Business and Contract Law services include establishing new business entities (e.g., corporations, subchapter S corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and others) by advising decision makers, ensuring that all corporate formalities are met, reviewing or drafting corporate contracts, and making sure your best interests are protected when your business enters into an agreement. Contracts pervade all aspects of commerce, from simple work orders to leases and sale of goods. We assist our clients in the drafting, reviewing, and amending of contract clauses, making sure the terms reflect our clients’ intent within the framework of the law.
Real Estate Law
Real estate law encompasses many areas such as title, boundary disputes, property ownership matters, and mortgage agreements. Our attorneys help our clients review, draft, and negotiate residential and commercial leases. They also help them throughout the sale or purchase of properties they own or desire to buy. We help our clients navigate through these challenges with confidence.
“Consistency is the true foundation of trust.”
